Yes, you can import your existing blog from WordPress or any of the other major blogging platforms with the click of a button.

What will be the URL of my website?

When you sign up for your free Shifter account, you can choose a domain name for your website. If you choose “mycooldomainname” when you sign up, people will get to your website using http://mycooldomainname.getshifter.com. If you already own a domain name, you can use your existing domain name for your new Shifter site.

Do I need my own domain name?

No, you don’t need to have your own domain name to have a Shifter site at GetShifter.com. If you want to have your own domain, you can get one and use it for the name of your Shifter site.

What if I already have a domain name, can I still use GetShifter.com?

Yes, we can map your domain name to your Shifter hosted website. For example, if you own example.com and you want people to be able to get to your Shifter site using http://example.com, just sign up for domain mapping after you have your Shifter account and your visitors will be able to access your Shifter site using your domain name.

Can I get an account now and purchase a domain in the future?
